E-Shram Card Holders Will Get Rs 3,000 Assistance from the Government in 2025 – Know the Truth!
Millions of workers in India have registered for the E-Shram Card, which aims to give social security to unorganized sector workers. Recently, news has been circulating that all E-Shram card holders will receive Rs 3,000 per month from the government in 2025. But what is the truth behind this claim? Let’s understand the real facts.
Where Does the Rs 3,000 Assistance Come From?
The Rs 3,000 assistance is actually linked to the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PM-SYM). Under this pension scheme, eligible E-Shram card holders can receive a monthly pension of Rs 3,000.
However, there are certain conditions:
- This is not a direct cash benefit for all card holders immediately.
- It is a pension benefit, not a free monthly allowance.
- To get Rs 3,000 per month, workers must enroll in the PM-SYM scheme and contribute a small amount every month till they reach 60 years of age.
- After turning 60, the government pays them Rs 3,000 per month as pension for life.
Is Everyone Eligible?
No, not everyone gets this benefit automatically. The conditions are:
-
Age should be between 18 and 40 years to enroll.
-
Monthly income should be less than Rs 15,000.
-
The worker should not be a member of EPFO, ESIC, or paying income tax.
-
The beneficiary must contribute Rs 55 to Rs 200 every month depending on their age.
After contributing regularly, the worker will receive Rs 3,000 per month only after turning 60.
